What is an RBT?
An RBT, or Registered Behavior Technician, is a paraprofessional in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). RBTs work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). They provide direct services to individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities, helping them learn new skills and improve their behavior using ABA techniques.
RBTs are the frontline workers who implement treatment plans designed by BCBAs, working closely with clients and their families in various settings such as homes, schools, and clinics. They collect data on clients’ progress and report it to their supervisors, ensuring effective treatment plans. An RBT can profoundly enhance a client’s quality of life by providing personalized support and guidance, creating lasting, positive change.
